Bill Dexheimer Pharris is an ordained ELCA pastor from Minneapolis, Minnesota.   He has worked since 1995 as a staff chaplain at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.  A singer, guitarist, and many years ago trumpet player, Bill developed this hymn resource for his own pastoral ministry with patients and families.  Bill has a special interest in Spanish-language hymnody, having served in pastoral ministry in Mexico and El Salvador, and was on the music committee for the ELCA hymnal, Libro de Liturgia y Cantico.  His new hymn tune for Take My Life That I May Be is included in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
